Structure

The structure plays an essential role in ensuring the carrying out of all teaching and welfare activities and presents two important new building features:

• Is located in a symbol building for the city from a historical and social point of view;
• Structure has been designed for dentistry, unlike the situations normally found in large hospital holdings, where the clinical-didactic activities of an industry fit to be carried out in existing and non-dedicated environments.

The extension is about 13,000 m² of which 9,000 are dedicated to didactic-care activity (2nd floor) and 4,000 to the didactic activity (3rd floor).

 The teaching area is equipped with:

• a main hall of 144 seats;
• 6 classrooms of about 50 seats;
• a dummies classroom for simulated preclinical teaching (simulation of dental and periodontal therapies);
• a laboratory hall for dental anatomical modelling exercises, simulation of orthodontic treatments, prosthesis construction;
• a library.

The health care area is equipped with 71 clinical units (dental chairs) distributed in 10 different outpatient out-patient departments. Both didactic and caring equipment are new and avant-garde.
